Shell Construction of the Forum Ústí nad Labem Project Completed

Multi Development company is pleased to announce that the shell construction of the Forum Ústí nad Labem project has been completed. The whole construction is realized according to a planned schedule in close cooperation with the town, with the objective to solemnly open at the beginning of this year. A new Palace Cinemas multi-cinema with 5 screens will be opened in spring 2010.

The construction is anticipated to be completed during the autumn of 2009.

MULTI DEVELOPMENT and PALACE CINEMAS have signed contracts for multiplex cinemas in three Multi projects in the Czech Republic

On May 7, 2009 Multi Development Czech Republic and the cinema operator Palace Cinemas have signed lease contracts for three newly planned multi-cinemas in Multi’s developments Forum Ústí nad Labem, Forum Liberec and Forum Nová Karolina in Ostrava.

With its five screens the cinema in Ústí nad Labem will open in the spring of 2010, to be followed by the opening of a five screens cinema in the Forum Liberec project, which will happen as a part of opening of the Phase II of the development. Opening of the eight screens cinema in Nová Karolina is then planned for the end of 2010.

The fact that Multi Development was able to find a high-quality cinema operator for all three projects even during the current situation in the development and real estate world only confirms the exceptional quality and vitality of these projects and proves well Multi’s Pan-European strategy to return business and life back to the centres of cities.

The Forum Ústí nad Labem project which is currently under construction in the very heart of the city in the area of former ugly looking market-hall surrounded by deteriorated space near the historic church will open in the Autumn of this year and with its total of 27 000 m2 of retail space the customers can look forward to over 100 retail shops including Billa supermarket, brand names such as C&A, H&M, New Yorker, Humanic, Gigasport and many others, along with a number of cafés and restaurants. The project will also offer parking space for 640 cars. Multiplex cinema itself will then in spring 2010 add another quality to the project and city centre.

The first phase of Forum Liberec project was successfully open in the centre of the city in February of this year, including 60 retail shops together with the ultra-modern hypermarket MY Liberec, which introduces the world premiere of the new format of Tesco Department Stores. The first phase of the Forum Liberec also includes a development of office space on 2.800 sqm and 14 rental apartments.

Construction of the 2nd phase of the project started at the end of April 2009 and apart from the already mentioned multi-cinema located together with other entertainment and social functions in the upper level of the project it will offer brand fashion names such as C&A, H&M, Humanic, Promod, Esprit, Celio, Intimissimi, along with Datart and Gigasport, DM Drogerie and a number of cafés and restaurants.

With its area of over 30ha the Nová Karolina in Ostrava represents one of the most extensive projects involving the revitalization of the city centre in the Czech Republic. When it is fully completed it will contain 240 000 m2 of retail, office and residential space. Within this development, the 57 000sqm architecturally unique project of a shopping and entertainment centre will offer the best and the highest quality space that can be offered in the Czech Republic and without exaggeration it will set a new standard for shopping centres in the country. The Centre is part of the project's first stage, along with the office building, development of approximately 200 new apartments, reconstruction of two historic buildings and a development of a complete municipal infrastructure including pedestrian connection with the bus and railways stations by a pedestrian bridge designed by famous architect Eva Jiřičná.
